Excellent location. Just a couple of stations away from Manhattan by the "E" express-line. Also, Train R and Train 7 stop at the elevated station. On the other i.e. the Queens side, Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue, a mighty busy area that truly is a melting pot. Our room # 910 was like a studio apartment. The kitchen was well-equipped, self-contained, complete, with a substantial fridge and a microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, even a dishwasher, dishwashing fluid and a scrubber, etc. A fair deal of storage space, good lighting, a multitude of TV channels to watch in your free time. Decent continental morning breakfast is provided, but just one suggestion: PLEASE have some option for vegetarians, such as a grilled cheese veg-sandwich, etc. Some top floors still command a substantial Manhattan view, esp. the Empire State and others in midtown Manhattan. Great Gym, lounge areas. The Hotel tariff is on the higher end if one is on a shoe-string budget, but it is worth it for a couple or a small family. The rooms are ultra-clean, spick and span. Housekeeping is done meticulously and regularly, and the Front Desk is 24/7 functional. I must mention Enzo, Chris and others who were so courteous, cordial, modest... they treat you with respect and make you feel that you are an important 'guest' to their Hotel. They also provide you pointers for travel to the nearby places and also into Manhattan. The neighborhood is a sprawling one, with a mini-Manhattan look, with its high-rise buildings. This place is almost at the Queens-end of the Ed Koch "Queensboro" Bridge, and in good weather, one can WALK over to Manhattan--- 1st Avenue (I have done it several times, during Spring). This is so cool ! Pizzeria, Indian "Raj's Kitchen" Restaurant (esp. take-away 'to go' foodstuff), Olive Organic Market, Salad-bar [especially for vegetarians like me!], are all so close, and so are the public laundromats.

The Location: The Hotel is located at a stone's throw from 39th Avenue-Dutch Kills Subway Station; also from Queens Plaza North and Queensboro Plaza. All these stations are a mere one- or two- stations away from Manhattan. There is thus an excellent connectivity with Manhattan. Also, that Queens area is a sprawling neighborhood. As to the Hotel, I guess it ought to be one of the best ones in the neighborhood. Excellent suites (I had opted for a studio with kitchenette) that embody a kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, a large fridge and also utensils, along with dishwashing soap, soap, scrubber...! Needless to mention a customized air conditioning unit! My room was #709 with little view but there is a patio or a small terrace, that came with a great view. As to the room, it is a huge studio apartment. The staff was ultra-courteous, helpful, gave pointers for places and always alert to help. Enzo, Chris, Manuel and in fact ALL in ALL were extremely modest, ready to assist. The breakfast was alright given the varied tastes. The Home2 administration has stringent cleanliness norms, which is very desirable! The housekeeping is done regularly, by the modest staff hailing mostly from Tibet, carrying out their work adroitly. If you meet any staff in the elevator, or passage, they greet you respectfully, akin to the tradition that would invariably be found in Japan! Another feature: The well-designed, artistic, firm Ed Koch (Queensboro) bridge offers a "walking-over" option to Manhattan if the weather is bracing and clement ! I myself have gone to Manhattan on foot several times!

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. A pleasant and large room and a good-sized bathroom, unfortunately with a sliding door that could not be closed properly. Kitchen with refrigerator, sink, large microwave, dishwasher. The atmosphere of a small suite with a comfortable seating area. Nice and welcomed after wandering around the city. Everything is very clean and tidy with a thorough cleaning service every day. The bed is of medium size with a mattress of average comfort. The sofa bed is not too comfortable to sleep on. The dining room where breakfast is served is excellently organised with very efficient staff. All food is replenished efficiently, tables are cleaned quickly and with the help of the staff, everyone finds a place to sit even in peak times. The stars of breakfast are definitely the waffles! A corner with coffee and tea, as well as apples at the reception are always available. The location is good in terms of proximity to Manhattan. The metro station is a few minutes' walk away. It is best to skip the walk in the area and go directly from and to the nearest metro station.

The room was big! We had the "no view room", but it still had a half view of the skyline which was wonderful. It had a full size fridge, microwave, cutlery, plates, dishwasher, a pull out table for dinner and extra couch, extra pillows, bed was comfier than my bed at home, very clean. Bathroom was big and very clean. I was super happy with room and price. My wife and I were so glad we chose this place over a tiny one in Manhattan for double the price and a fraction of the services/amenities. The hotel is literally seconds from 39 station where you can catch many trains to downtown within 13mins. There are also 2 other stations near by. There are 2 convenience stores within minutes walking distance that sell everything. and a wine store seconds away. The area was safe and we had no problems, definitely will stay here again next time. Oh and the breakfast in the morning was awesome. Cereal, 3 waffle stations, bagels, oatmeal, fruit, a variety of breakfast sandwiches (sausage and egg, ham, etc.), juices, coffee and tons of pastries. Staff was really great too!

Nigel

The breakfast buffet was grand beyond words with a live waffle making station and plenty of options from eggs, sandwiches, oats, fruits, yoghurt, cereal, toppings, bagels, biscuits, bread and other bakeries (so many baked goods to choose from), drinks and more. The hotel even gave out apples as gifts throughout our stay there and celebrated world pretzel day with free pretzels! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I would like to acknowledge Chris, Zahir and Lama for all their kindness and help! The location was 2 mins walking distance from subway station Dutch Kills and 7-10 mins walking from Queensboro Plaza. The room amenities were good and as publicised with comfortable beds and amazing room service that went above and beyond.
